After sitting down and reviewing this years burgers, the Mahoning Valley Burger Review Board (MVBRB) presented Christian Rinehart, owner of O’Donold’s Irish Pub and Grille, in Austintown, with the 2009 “Burger of the Year” award.
.
. ”It’s a great honor to win the Burger of theYear award,” Rinehart said.
.
. With a 4 1/2 star rating, a juicy, flavor-filled burger, an overflowing plate of food, and excellent service from start to finish — O’Donold’s distanced itself from the competition.
.
. Board member Tony Krusely had the O’Donold’s burger and said he “wouldn’t change anything with their burger. It was perfectly put together.” He added that some restaurants you go to you have to add items to the burger to enhance the flavor, but the O’Donold’s burger did not need a thing. “It was as if I prepared it myself.”
.
. Everyone agreed that flavor was one of the major factors in the O’Donold’s victory.
.
. Co-Founder Jerry Tranovich had the Alpine burger, and said, “It was the best burger I remember having. The burger was seasoned to perfection.”
.
. Co-FounderScott Long had O’Donold’s signature Guiness burger and said, “I can still taste the sauce. I did not have to add anything to the burger.”
.
. Board member and writer, Anthony Fuda, had the Rocket burger, and thought the blend of sautéed onions, cheese and chipotle mayo had the perfect flavor. “There is flavor in that burger from the top of the bun to the bottom of the bun. It is perfectly flavored from the first bite to the last bite.”
.
. Adding to a great burger was the excellent service provided by our waitress, Lindsay Mcmath, who made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
.
. The MVBRB would definitely recommend the O’Donold’s burgers to anyone at anytime. The burgers are excellent and the portions are huge.
.
. Also great burgers where we would definitely go back again, and rounding out the top three from this year are:
High Pointe (Niles) (☆☆☆☆)
An excellent burger. More than enough food
with a pleasant homestyle atmosphere.
